The Exhibition “Old Age”, part of the European Capital of Culture Programme, will run at Z. A. Meierovica bulvāris 6/1 in Riga until the 30th of April. The exhibition presents a design concept for an urban environment, offering the visitors a chance to imagine how senior citizens will live in the future. The exhibition will include thematic events for senior citizens and youth. The exhibition “Old Age” is part of the “Riga 2014” Programme’s thematic line “Road Map”. The idea of the exhibition was conceived in response to a “Eurostat” projection that 35.7% of Latvia’s population would be made up of residents aged 65+ by 2060. The authors of the exhibition are the design studio “Rijada” in collaboration with Kristaps Grundšteins and SIA “Design Catering”. More information about the exhibition “Old Age” and other projects is available on the website www.garapastaiga.lv.
