The Courtyard Cleaning Movement, which started several years ago as part of the Nationwide Cleanup Campaign and keeps growing in popularity, brings together residents from apartment buildings in Riga’s neighbourhoods and young architects, designers, gardeners and other experts who jointly draw up plans for the beautification of a particular courtyard and implement the plan on the Nationwide Cleanup Campaign day. This year, four courtyards were selected for the project on the Nationwide Cleanup Campaign day – two in Pārdaugava and two on the right bank of the River Daugava, giving local residents the opportunity to improve the places they live.
