The gala concert of “Tenso Days Riga” in the Riga Dom on the 22nd of October featured samples of French and Flemish baroque polyphony, traditional Norwegian sacred songs, music by Pēteris Vasks and Arvo Pärt, and new compositions created in the sound laboratory of the Latvian Radio Choir – Latvian-Byzantine chants. Sigvards Kļava was the artistic director for the concert to help revive, together with Byzantine chant scholar and composer Andrejs Selickis, early songs in a new musical artwork. “Nederlands Kamerkoor” (the Netherlands), “Musicatreize” (France), “Det Norske Solistkor” (Norway), Latvian Radio Choir, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and soloists participated in the concert.
