Thursday, on November 7, Astra Kurme, Ambassador of Latvia to Russian Federation, opened an exhibition „Graphic novels. International brands, events and artists in the graphic production of National Library of Latvia”. It was opened at the Library of Foreign Literature in Russia and therefore is available until 8 December.

The exhibition includes a small part of Latvian National Library collection - photos, drawings, posters and stamps. Those art examples reveal relationships between Latvia and foreign artists, politicians and collectors as well as international events.

Ekaterina Genieva, director of Foreign Literature Library in Russia, took part at the exhibition together with Emīls Klotiņš, deputy of Latvian National Library, representatives from Russian media and cultural institutions as well as foreign diplomats.

Genieva was pleased with the fact that the Embassy in Russia gave an exclusive chance to curate the exhibition at the library. She also invited to strenghten the relationships between Latvian National Library and Foreign Literature Library by holding a seminar about Latvian experience in digitalizing the collection.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Latvia and Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Moscow organizes and supports the exhibition.
