„Delfi” editorial office has joined „Chain of Booklovers” campaign inviting everyone to take their part in bringing books from the old library building to the new one – „Castle of Light”.

Ingus Bērziņš, Editor-in-Chief at „Delfi”, says: „Here, in "Delfi" team, we all have our favourite book. And you have it, too. So, join us at „Chain of Booklovers” on January 18, we will be there!”

On 18 January, 2014, from 12:00 to 18:00 anyone will be able to join the campaign during which books will travel from the old library building to the new one by being handed from one person to the next. This path of books will cross the river Daugava, symbolizing the fundamental values which have for many generations developed the core of our culture, and which are immortalized in books. This will be a truly unique event which will attract international attention, yet hold a special place for locals.

By taking part in this historic campaign, you can help to transport books from the old library building to the new one, while also taking part in the creation of the European Capital of Culture, and enjoying such an incredible affirmation of the importance of culture.
