Organization of ‘Summertime’ taken over by Inese Galante
With this change in mind, ‘Inessa Galante Foundation’ was established several months ago, and the prominent singer has decided to invest her own efforts, with help of her daughter Diāna and a new organizing team, into the presentation of ‘Summertime.’
‘The ninth festival in a row, ‘Summertime’ will be held, as every year, in Jūrmala, in Dzintari concert hall in August 12-18,’ Inese Galante informs, withholding from us the reasons of this organizational change at the moment. ‘It is a brand I have created and wish to preserve and develop.’
The program of the festival will be announced in the nearest future, most probably, early in May, when we will learn the names of the artists who have agreed to perform in this event. ‘We wanted to lighten the program up and reduce the duration of concerts to two and a half hours, to prevent tiring the public,’ the singer admits, adding that, in the middle of May, the ‘Summertime’ website is expected to open offering the program and other current information of the festival.
‘As has been our practice before, our driving motive will be diversity of genres, which has always distinguished ‘Summertime’ from its numerous counterparts, which are genre-specific. I can promise that the festival week will gather opera and jazz singers, chamber music interpreters as well as quires, orchestras and vocal groups to present their art to the public in Dzintari,’ Inese Galante underlines.
