The young fashion designers’ show “Amber Avant-Garde”, part of the “Habitus Baltija 2014” competition, has been won by the Polish fashion designer Domonika Losko from the Krakow School of Art and Design.

The “Amber Avant-Garde” show is one of the events in the “Riga 2014” thematic line “Amber Vein”. A total of 21 young fashion designers from nine countries participated in the show.

The “Amber Vein” curator, “Riga 2014” Artistic Council Member Vita Timermane-Moora presented the winner with a EUR 500 cash prize.

“Amber is a colour, amber is a material, amber is also a place for ants and mosquitoes, and a venue for our imagination. You all are our amber champions,” Vita Timermane-Moora said when presenting the award.

The winners and participants in the competition were also greeted by the vocal ensemble “Latvian Voices”, the musical symbol of “Riga 2014”.

This year, the annual “Habitus Baltija” competition and fashion shows in Riga take place for the fourteenth time.
