The goal of the Euroradio concert series “European Capital of Culture, Riga” is to bring the vibrant music scene of Latvia into the limelight in all of the 78 Euroradio member countries, giving the audiences a chance to enjoy some of the multiple concerts in Riga, in live broadcasts and recordings.

The 27th of October at 9:05 p.m. Recordings from XI “Kremerata Baltica” Festival in Sigulda – Lauma Skride (piano), Baiba Skride (violin), orchestra “Kamerata Baltica”, conductor Jacques Cohen. Programme – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Modest Mussorgsky.

The 28th of October at 9:05 p.m. Recording from Riga Cathedral – “Tenso Days 2014” closing concert “Paradisus vocis”, featuring Latvian Radio Choir, “Musicatreize” (France), “Helsingin kamerikuoro” (Finland), orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”, conductor Sigvards Kļava. Programme – contemporary sacral choir music by Bernat Vivancos, Beat Furrer, Zad Moultaka, François-Bernard Mâche, Andrejs Selickis, Pēteris Vasks, and Ēriks Ešenvalds.

The 29th of October at 7 p.m. Live transmission from the Riga Dom. Participants –State Choir “Latvija” and soloists, conductor Māris Sirmais. Programme – Ēriks Ešenvalds, Sir John Tavener, Giya Kancheli, Rihards Dubra.

The 30th of October at 9:05 p.m. Recording of the closing concert of the Autumn Chamber Music Festival at the Great Guild Hall. Participants – Sol Gabetta (cello), orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”, conductor Normunds Šnē. Programme – Pēteris Vasks, Jean Sibelius, and Erkki-Sven Tüür.

The 31st of October at 7 p.m. Live transmission from the Great Guild Hall. Concert “Reinis Zariņš. Clouds. Tchaikovsky”. Participants – Reinis Zariņš (piano), Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conductor Andris Poga. Programme – Ēriks Ešenvalds, Alexander Scriabin, Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The 31st of October at 11:30 p.m. Recording from Latvian Radio Studio 1. Kristīne Prauliņa (vocal), Raimonds Pauls (piano), Latvian Radio Big Band perform Latvian evergreens and new jazz songs. Conductor – Kārlis Vanags.

The 1st of November at 7 p.m. Recording from the Latvian National Opera – Giuseppe Verdi “Rigoletto”. Soloists – Samsons Izjumovs, Olga Pudova, Rame Lahaj, Krišjānis Norvelis, Kristīne Zadovska, Rihards Mačanovskis e.a., as well as Latvian National Opera Choir and Orchestra, conductor – Mārtiņš Ozoliņš.

The 2nd of November at 5 p.m. Live transmission from the Latvian Radio Studio 1. Laima Jansone (kokle), Raimonds Tiguls (hang), Artis Orubs (percussion), Andris Grunte (contrabass) in folk/world music concert “Morning Dew Washed Off”.
