Foundation Rīga 2014 is organising the creative workshop.
An international creative workshop will take place in Riga on 22 October where the students from Latvian universities, under management or internationally recognised artists, will generate ideas for improving the atmosphere in dark areas of Riga using a creative approach and development of interactive objects. It is planned that some of the objects will already be implemented this year during the Light Festival Staro Rīga from 17 to 20 November.

RIGA 2014 Light Think Tank is part of the programme Riga 2014 – Cultural Capital of Europe, it is planned as a long-term project to seek creative solutions for improving the quality of the urban environment in Riga.
The creative workshop project is coordinated by the Riga School of Economics lecturer Fionn Dobbin, the participants will include the audio-visual artist Christina Kral, the innovation design researcher and lecturer Christian Zoellner, the artist and industrial design specialist Kaspar Koenig, the creative director of advertising agency Leo Burnett Voldemārs Dūdums and the creative director of advertising agency DDB Latvia Gatis Mūrnieks.
The first meeting of the creative workshop will take place on 22 October in the premises of Dizaina fabrika at Slokas iela 52d.
