Exhibition ‘What is next for amber?’ opened in Washington

With director of one of foundation 'Riga 2014' programs Aiva Rozenberga present, ambassador of Latvia in USA Andris Razāns opened exhibition ‘What is next for amber?’ on May 22 in Washington, Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

The exhibition was organized to popularize Riga as European Capital of Culture 2014 and to present one of the most prominent latest scientific innovations of Latvia internationally.

The potential of amber thread, developed by researcher of Riga technical University Inga Ļašenko, still needs to be fully esteemed. One of the spheres of its application is textile industry, exemplified, in the exhibition, by work of internationally recognized tapestry and textile artist Iveta Vecenāne.

Another part of the visit itinerary was Aiva Rozenberga’s presentation and discussion of plans and ideas of 'Riga 2014' program with representatives of mass media, tourism companies and cultural organizers.
