Expedition is a journey began by a group of people driven by an aim to explore, observe, to collect data to be used as well as, sometimes, to conquer. It is thought that the age grand discoveries ended with the 19th century, which is why Latvian Center for Contemporary Art urges to focus on minute discoveries, diverting the gaze of tourist, traveler and researcher to Riga’s neighborhoods. ‘Expedition Vecmīlgrāvis’ offers micro-events, inviting to draw one’s subjective map of the place.
