Love Stories

Visitors to the “Long Live VEF!” event will be invited to participate in shooting Aija Bley’s documentary film “Love Stories” – opportunity to return to their untold love stories (memories, dairies, photographs, letters) and transform this contained energy into a work of art. Photographer Aija Bley is the author and director of the performance, and every visitor to the event who is brave enough to reveal his or her feelings on camera is welcome to participate in the project. The stories filmed during the project will be unveiled at Aija Bley’s solo exhibition that will open at the Riga Art Space on the 12th of December. In the meantime, the “Long Live VEF!” event presents Aija Bley’s photography exhibition “Portrait Workshop”.

Project description:

Active Neighbourhoods is a series of events that make living in a city more inspiring and foster a sense of belonging and responsibility for the area we live in. Activities proposed and implemented by residents of Riga continue throughout 2014 in various neighbourhoods of the city. These include tours of the area planned and guided by locals, artistic meetings en plein air, photography campaigns, celebrations, festivals, lectures and discussions, which all centre on people and their infinite wish to invent and create something new, receive guests and have a great time with them.
