The aim of the conference is to generate positive international publicity and create new pan-European cultural co-operation networks to offer fresh perspective on cultural events. In line with the ongoing efforts in Europe and elsewhere in the world to achieve sustainable development of art and craftsmanship, and preservation of cultural heritage, the conference will feature debates and discussions about the common aspects of culture and the much-needed interaction between various cultural phenomena in Latvia, Europe, and the world.
13 international and local art and crafts experts will share their experience and knowledge of the traditional and contemporary in modern-day arts and crafts, the positive and negative trends in the preservation of cultural heritage, the challenges, creativity, and interdisciplinary co-operation opportunities for the creation of competitive artworks and artisan products – including lace – in art, science, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and other areas.

The artistic concept of the project is based on creative application of lace patterns in contemporary and traditional arts and crafts.
The exhibition includes sections on archaeology and ethnography, traditional art and crafts, classical textiles, art and design, architecture, urban environment, intricate metalsmith and woodcarving samples, nature, photography, and multimedia.
