The Sami people inhabiting northern territories of Scandinavia align their life according to the cycle of eight seasons. The show of Torbjörn Jakobsson’s photography created in 2008 turns light to the way this rhythm of life is experienced by a young Sami family of deer-breeders – the Renfoels. In collaboration with the newspaper „Västerbottens-Kuriren,” the textual part of the exhibition was prepared by journalist Bertil Wallin. The show was supervised by the curator of art and exhibitions of Västerbotten Museum Suzanne Steneberg. In a singular event, the authors of ‘Eight Seasons of Sami Family’ will meet the public during the exhibition.
