European Children's Film days


The children’s jury in 9 European cities will choose the winner between three of the children’s films selected in the European Film Academy competition: ‘The Suicide Shop’, dir. Patrice Leconte, France, Belgium, Canada, ‘UPSIDEdown,’ dir. Bernd Sahling, Germany, and ‘The Zigzag Kid’, dir. Vincent Bal, the Netherlands. This will be the first children’s jury to invite a number of members from Latvia. Selected by a jury of children aged from 12 to 14, the best of these films, later, will be awarded in Erfurt, Germany.

Project description:

The European Film Awards ceremony will be one of the highlights of Riga’s year as the European Capital of Culture. The event takes place in Berlin, seat of the European Film Academy, every second year. In the other years, the awards travel and after London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Tallinn and Malta, this is the first time it takes place in Latvia.
